Its warmed up a little now so my fingers have thawed enough for me to type out a blog post.

I have a test in sociology tomorrow, but i think its going to be easy cause its true and false and multiple choice.
I really like the class a lot; Its a criminal justice class and we're only on the first 4 chapters but we're learning about the different kinds of crime and motivation and law and stuff. Its pretty cool.

I decided that i'm actually going to major in just elementary education instead of doing the special ed dual endorsement because I'm really interested in sociology and teaching students that most teachers would label bad kids. There are so many things that even bad behavior can tell you about what a kid is feeling and why he or she is acting a certain way.
And I can't really minor in Spanish like I want to if I do the dual endorsement and I just think I could do more with that. I still have a while to decide I guess..not really though actually. I had to sign up to take this test called the WEST-B test, it stands for like Washington Educators Something Test or something but every teacher has to pass it and then after i do my student teaching I have to take the WEST E...but anyways, it cost like 90 dollars. That sucks.

So I woke up to snow this morning. Its just not cool, cause its been really cold lately and we're all hoping for spring weather to start even though its only january. I can't wait for summer

So Claire and I turned in a ton of job applications yesterday but really only applebees seemed like they might be hiring. We also applied at a bunch of coffee stands and a few places at the mall.

So I locked my keys in my car today. I stopped by fred meyer on my way back to school from work and i just left them sitting there on the seat when I closed the door and so then i had to call the freaking insurance people and get the lock guys to come out and I had to wait like an hour for the guy to get there but he was actually hella nice cause I was supposed to pay him 5 dollars but he didn't even make me.

So its been really hot in our rooms lately and I don't know why but I secretly kind of like it. We have heated floors so they're really hot and we keep having to open the windows but its freezing outside so then it gets cold.

Eggland is Eggcellent.

It’s almost Friday! I know I write about it eggery time I post but I’m so super excited to see my best friends that I don’t really care. Anyways, I got my first real piece of mail the other day. Cam Cam sent me a lovely letter complete with pictures and everything. It’s hanging on the wall above my desk and I love it. Of course the letters he sends me aren't nearly as decorated and pretty as the ones I send him but I think that's to be expected...he doesn't have to sit around a dorm all day.

SO we went and watched Zoolander in the lounge with some people today. IT was pretty cool; the girl who lives two doors down from us was there with her roommate. We're kind of friends with the two rooms to the left of us, the girls right next to us went to Terrace so that was kind of cool cause we're from the same place and we know some of the same people. Shea comes over pretty much every day though, she's hella cool. She made us dinner last night, it was really sweet of her she made polenta with spaghetti sauce and peppers and we made some biscuits in our illegal toaster oven. It was excellent.


So we have to walk by the Highland dorm on our way to class and one day we notice this little gem of a cat sitting on the wall outside of it (its one of those dorms with the doors that open to the outside)
And then for like three days after that he was moved to a different spot ever morning; it was pretty funny. But then one day he mysteriously disappeared. So sad...



A guest speaker from Big Brothers Big sisters came in to my education class today and she talked about being a Big and stuff and it seems hella cool so I think I’m gonna do it. I wanted to do it in high school but I think you have to be over 18 to really do it. So anyways I sent in for an information packet or whatever and if I get chosen to do it I just have to go to the elementary school once a week for an hour to meet with the kid and chill and stuff. And it’s supposed to look really good on resumes, especially if I want to be a teacher.

I still really like all my classes and everything, math is still pretty boring but I feel like it’s going to get really hard and I’m going to fail soon...so we'll see I guess. Cam Cam said he'd help me if I want but I don’t really want...so whatever. Spanish is still really easy but it’s getting better and she's teaching things more in depth than we learned it in high school so I guess that's good. I guess I was just expecting it to be a lot different because everyone kept talking about how fast paced it is in college but I really don’t think it is. And the classes seem so short because they're only 50 minutes and we used to have 90 minute classes in high school.
The gym here is really nice; we've been going most days. The first time we made the mistake of going in the evening at like 5 but it was packed and it sucked a lot so now we go around 12 or 2 when we get done with class and homework and stuff. But I’m not gonna lie, I've gotten used to taking a nap in the middle of the day...like we didn't do it yesterday and I had the hardest time getting up this morning. Naps are good. More people should take them.

Anyways, for those of you who like to see my face, here I am sitting outside in the sun before class. Que chulo.

We survived the first friday night here. You know those parties in the movies where there's like a million people walking around in a house with those red party cups and there's a keg in one room and hella people are waiting to get beer or whatever? Yeah well thats what this party was like.

So we were hecka bored sitting in our dorm after the debates and then our neighbors stopped by and were like hey we're going to this party cause we're hecka bored wanna come? So we were like ok and we went downthe hall and met up with these guys and some other girls and after like an hour and a half we end up at this house party off campus. We were only there for like 15 minutes but it was the craziest thing i've ever seen.

I hope you all are watching the debates right now... I don't want to say much about it but i will say the 1. The guy hosting the debates is totally weird and annoying. 2. McCain doesn't make any sense about anything and 3. Obama is making him look like a little girl.



So my math class is a total drag...I'm ridiculously bored in it and its terrible. we were adding and subtracting fractions today...I mean really...really? this is college...please.
but Supposedly its just review and things will get harder, so I guess we'll see about that.

I really like my Philosophy of Religion class, its super interesting and not at all what I thought it would be like. Its cool. The teacher is kind of annoying though cause he always lets us out hella late and I have to book it across campus and up 5 flights of stairs to get to my lame ass math class.

So its the first weekend here and I guess we should be doing something exciting..I'm not really sure what we're gonna do but I guess its still early and we can find something. I'm kind of disappointed cause Jackie was supposed to be coming up but she hurt her leg and she can't.
But next weekend Jackie is coming to pick us up with Cam Cam and maybe Beau and I'm sooo excited I can't wait. And we're gonna meet Cam's mommy cause she's coming to visit him that weekend. Its gonna be legit.


ps- McCain thinks we're winning the war in Iraq. Who is he kidding??
